RHSFS Welcomes U.S. Representative Nikki Budzinski to Help Make Valentine’s Cards for Veterans

ALTON, IL., February 7, 2023 – Riverbend Head Start & Family Services (RHSFS) is pleased to welcome U.S. Representative Nikki Budzinski to our Granite City South location on Monday, February 13, 2023 at 9:30 a.m. The address of our Granite City South location is 1249 20th Street, Granite City, IL 62040. On January, 24th, Rep. Budzinski launched her “Valentines for Veterans” program, encouraging families across Central and Southern Illinois to show appreciation for local veterans by making homemade Valentine’s Day cards. Budzinski will join our RHSFS students on February 13th to make Valentine’s Day cards, which will be distributed to veterans throughout the 13th Congressional District.     

“We are delighted to host a visit with Representative Budzinski and proud to take part in her mission to honor our nation’s heroes with the Valentine’s for Veterans effort,” said Gene Howell, President and CEO. “We support her efforts, and are thrilled that our Head Start students will get to be a part of this important project.”

Families that are interested in submitting a Valentine’s card for a veteran can mail them to Rep. Budzinski’s office at: 133 S. 4th Street, Suite 300, Springfield, IL 62701. The deadline to submit cards is this Friday, February 10th.
